The Baltimore Regional Partnership is an alliance of five civic and environmental groups -- Citizens Planning and Housing Association, Baltimore Urban League, 1000 Friends of Maryland, Environmental Defense, Chesapeake Bay Foundation -- that work on a common agenda to enhance the Baltimore area's quality of life through urban revitalization and environmental protection.

GOALS

Inform, mobilize, and empower a broad-based coalition of citizens to engage effectively in the processes of planning and policy making for transportation, land use, and environmental quality in the Baltimore metropolitan region.
Change both the process and the results of transportation planning in the region.

The ultimate goal is to ensure that State and federal transportation funds for the Baltimore Region are channeled to projects that support pedestrian friendly, transit-oriented development and encourage investment in established communities, rather than be used to subsidize automobile-dependent development and suburban sprawl.

The Partnership also seeks to ensure greater equity in public investments -- especially to enhance the mobility and quality of life for low income and minority people.

In addition, the Partnership works to promote the principles of Maryland's recently enacted Smart Growth legislation.
